CASE STUDY

Project Brief

In response to the apparent need for affordable housing by the elite community in the fastest growing city in West Africa, the client commissioned us to come up with innovative design solutions for residential housing typologies to attract the target users.

SCOPE OF PROJECT

  • Computer Generated Imagery
  • Architectural Design

PROJECT LEAD

  • Michael Awonowo

Spatial Paradox

Customary with many developer projects, a key feature of such projects is the client’s request to achieve more with less; bigger spaces with smaller square areas. This project towed the same line. Care was taken to accentuate the key necessities to life which include living, sleeping and dining. Emphasis was then given to maximise the allocated spaces and eliminating corridors and lobbies. This created a sequential arrangement to the layout across spaces and floor levels

Oversized Terraces

The location for this project provided Micdee with a chance to provide a deeper earthly connection between the interior spaces and nature. Oversized balconies were provided to afford the occupants generous views of the ocean, surroundings while enjoying the crisp ocean breeze without the clustered appearances that most Lagos occupants are accustomed to.
